Salem Council Approves $136M Budget
Here are the five things you need to know before you start your day in Salem.

Today is Friday, June 28, and here are the five things you need to know:
1. You'll want to be prepared for more wet and windy weather today. The National Weather Service is predicting that local residents can expect showers, powerful thunderstorms and a high near 82. Tonight should be mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. (sunrise, 5:08 a.m.; low tide, 9:45 a.m.; high tide, 4:10 p.m.; sunset, 8:24 p.m.)
2. That's a lot of dough! At their meeting at City Hall Thursday night, Salem city councilors voted department-by-department to approve the city's $136 million Fiscal 14 operating budget.
