Flatbread Restaurant to Open in Salem: Report

SALEM, MA—Salem will likely be home to a new Flatbread pizza restaurant, according to a report by the Salem News. 

The Flatbread Company is now planning to open a restaurant at the former Goodyear Tire site located on Derby Street, according to the report. The developers are targeting a Sept. 1 open date. 

The Salem News' report indicates that Flatbread was a sole bidder to open a new restaurant on city-owned land in Beverly, but the city rejected the proposal due to the restaurant not meeting requirement for public access in the request for proposals. 

The Flatbread Company was not immediately available for comment, but the menu for its Georgetown restaurant states that the new restaurant will offer wood-fire clay oven pizza and organic salads.
