Former President Barack Obama To Speak At Salem State University

SALEM, MA — Former President Barack Obama will be on the campus of Salem State University this fall as part of the school's alumni association speaker series.

"A Conversation with President Barack Obama" will take place on Sept. 21 at the O'Keefe Center in what the school said "represents one of the most significant events in the Series' history and underscores Salem State's mission as the Commonwealth's Civic Engagement University, fostering conversations around leadership, democracy, citizenship and public service."

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on July 15. Additional event and ticket information is available here.

"The Salem State Series was created by the Alumni Association and Foundation to serve as a community enrichment program that connects the North Shore with influential leaders and meaningful public dialogue," said Salem State University President John Keenan. "Welcoming President Obama to Salem State reflects the university's enduring commitment to civic engagement and to creating opportunities for our students and broader community to engage with ideas and voices shaping public life."

The Obama Foundation recently opened the Obama Presidential Center on Chicago’s South Side.
