Four People Dead in Apartment Fire in Lynn

Four people are dead after an early morning apartment fire on Friday in Lynn, according to Jennifer Mieth, Public Information Officer, Massachusetts Department of Fire Services.

The fire at 24 Bruce St. was reported shortly after midnight.

Firefighters rescued two people from the burning building, according to Lynn fire officials.

The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation.

Firefighters say the two-and-a-half story apartment building was engulfed in flames when they arrived. Salem, Mass., Engine 4 was among the crews providing mutual aid to Lynn firefighters.

The names of the victims have not been released.

Bruce Place in Lynn is near Lewis and Chatham Streets.
