Free Swap 'N' Drop Returns To Salem Common In June

The event is a free opportunity to swap or donate usable clothing and household items, keeping them from the waste stream.

SALEM, MA — The popular free "Swap 'N' Drop" will return to Salem Common next month with residents encouraged to swap or donate usable clothing and household items, keeping them out of the waste stream.

The SalemRecylce Committee event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 8 with a rain date of June 15.

Residents are invited to drop off women's, men's and children's clothing and accessories, and small household items in good, working conditions — televisions and computers are not allowed.

Residents can then pick up available items for free with all un-swapped items collected by ReSupply at the end of the event.

Donations should be dropped off between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. that day.

Damaged and unusable textiles will not be accepted and should be brought in bags to and of the Baystate Textile Recovery Bins located in all Salem Public School parking lots.

Volunteers are being sought for the event with those interested encouraged to register here.
