Get A Glimpse Inside Salem's Police Department
The 10-week class will offer insight into the Salem Police Department, current case law and the day-to-day duties of officers.

SALEM, MA — Salem residents interested in learning more about the inner workings of the police department are encouraged to sign up for the Salem Police Citizens' Academy beginning on Sept. 28.
The 10-week class will offer insight into the Salem Police Department, current case law and the day-to-day duties of officers.
The course covers firearms, patrol, search and seize, crime scene investigations, new forensic technology and modern-day policing. Students who attend at least eight of the classes will be able to go on a "ride along" with Salem police as well as utilize the department's firing range.

The Salem Citizens' Academy will run Wednesdays from 7 to 10 p.m. The classes are free and open to Salem residents at least 18 years old.
The classes are limited to 25 people.

Applications are now being accepted with a deadline of Sept. 14.
