Good News, Bad News On Salem Power Outages

SALEM, MA -- The lights are mostly on in Salem, as National Grid is reporting that all but 113 of its 21,230 Salem customers have their power service restored. The bad news is that those 113 customers may have to wait until as late as 7 pm on Saturday to get their power back, according to an update on the utility's Website at 2:30 pm Friday.

Out of town relatives who want a wellness check on an elderly family member can contact the Salem Police Department at 978-744-1212 for assistance. City officials are urging residents to check in on neighbors and, if they are still without power, consider staying with friends or relatives who do have power.
