Harbor Sweets' Gather Saves the Honeybees

Chocolate maker Harbor Sweets launches new Gather chocolate on September 6 and raises money to save honeybee health.

The newest Harbor Sweets small batch chocolate line, Gather arrives today in shops and supports a cause critical to the environment: protecting the honeybees. The purpose-driven chocolates are a flight of six distinct taste experiences unified by dark chocolate and a subtle note of wildflower honey. A portion of sales will be donated to the Pollinator Partnership, a 501(c)3 non-profit that educates and advocates best beekeeping practices for honeybee protection.

Gather was inspired by the plight of the honeybees. According to a USDA Report honeybees are a critical link in U.S. agricultural production. However, there are many factors threatening honeybee health including parasites and pests, pathogens, poor nutrition, and sublethal exposure to pesticides. There are no easy solutions. People can plant pollinator gardens and reduce pesticide spraying.

Gather is sold at the Harbor Sweets' gift shop in Salem, MA and specialty food stores that curate chocolate and honey product collections.
