Hit and Run, Canteen Truck Driver Dumping Grease: Salem Police Logs

SALEM, MA — The following are excerpts from the Salem Police Logs from Aug. 22 and 23.
Aug. 22
1:04 a.m.: Police were dispatched to Derby Street for a report of a stolen bicycle.
5:01 a.m.: Police responded to a hit and run accident on North St. where a woman stated that she was going slowly on North St. when another vehicle "dashed" out of a side street and struck her car. She also stated the woman ran from the scene without providing information. Witnesses said that the vehicle did not stop at the stop sign on liberty hill avenue, and had her cell phone in hand and that the other woman walked quickly away from the scene.

Police contacted the owner of the other vehicle identified as Alexandra Felix, 21, of Beverly who will be charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and operating a vehicle without a license.
Aug. 23
12:59 a.m.: Police responded to Laurel Street at Canal Street for a water main break.

10:32 a.m.: A couple reported that someone had been recently using their address to get a license and purchase a vehicle. A Repo company had arrived at the address to repossess the vehicle and they informed the man that the person did not and has never lived at that address. The person with the same name as the one the company was looking for lives on Palmer St., but it is not known if it is the same person.
12:18 p.m.: A man reported that the is having an issue with a canteen truck driver. The driver had allegedly been coming onto a property and dumping grease all over the driveway. The man had asked the driver to leave the property and never return, and the driver told him off and left the property.
