Insa Hosts Month-Long Mystical Experience in Salem, MA

Salem, Mass. (September 27, 2021) – Leading Massachusetts-based cannabis grower and retailer Insa is transforming its Salem retail location. During the entire month of October, Insa will host “Haunted Harvest,” a month-long immersive experience to celebrate Halloween and the people accused of witchcraft throughout history.

From the moment customers approach Insa, they will be drawn into a haunted forest – starting with the exterior, where a giant 20 ft. spider is crawling down from the roof, and trees from the overgrown forest create a spooky path for those who dare to follow where it leads them. Once inside, visitors will find themselves deep in the woods filled with life-like earthy elements, as they are transported into a multi-sensory mystical experience.

“There’s a centuries-long history of healers, who used plants and herbs to promote wellbeing and cure ailments, being accused of witchcraft. In Colonial America and Europe, healers were looked at with skepticism, bigotry, and fear– not much different than how some people still dismiss the cannabis industry today. Thankfully the likelihood of being burned at the stake has decreased, but by recognizing the past, we can go forward and help break down some of the unwarranted stigmas that are still attached to using cannabis,” said Pete Gallagher, Insa co-founder. “By hosting Insa’s Haunted Harvest, we wanted to bring that story to life in an engaging way. And with our retail location in Salem, MA what better City is there to welcome consumers interested in the intersection of natural healing and witchcraft?”

While the Haunted Harvest may seem like a scary place, Insa wants their shopping experience to feel anything but frightening.

“Shopping at dispensaries can feel intimidating. Stuck in lines, no chance to browse or ask questions, the setting can be a big barrier blocking some people from learning about cannabis and how it can make their day better by helping with sleep, providing anxiety relief, focus, or relaxation,” said Insa co-founder Pat Gottschlicht. “We’re redesigning how cannabis customers shop at retail and interact with our products and our team here in Salem and at our other locations in Easthampton and Springfield. This isn’t the first time that Insa will attract attention for its store transformations. Last April, on 4/20, the brand held its wildly successful “INSAnity Circus” with the same goal of educating people about cannabis in a relaxed, fun environment. They are not holding back this October, transforming their storefront into the spot where consumers who are cannabis curious or already loyal patrons, can best experience all things creepy and wild in “Witch City.”

As part of the Haunted Forest, Insa will feature its first full line of seasonal products incorporating what makes New England’s harvest season the best in the world – namely pumpkins and orchard-fresh apples. Mouth-watering pumpkin pie caramel crumble chocolate bars and caramel apple gummies made with real fruit will take center stage. Under Chef Julian Rose, all of Insa’s edibles are made with the finest ingredients, bringing a unique culinary pedigree to the cannabis industry. As a graduate of the Institut de Tourisme et d'hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ), Chef Rose has 40 years of experience working as a chocolatier and pastry chef domestically and internationally. With 5mg of THC per piece, these edibles will guarantee tricks and treats for those daring enough to brave the forest.

Insa’s “Haunted Harvest” will be unveiled Friday, October 1, and run through Halloween on October 31 at 462 Highland Ave, Salem, MA. Insa will run a free shuttle service from its Salem location to and from Bit Bar Salem, located Downtown at 278 Derby Street, to help visitors get around seamlessly during the busiest weekends of the month, October 23 - 24 and 30 - 31.
