'Joe' Assaults Skateboarder Outside of Giovanni's

responded to the following calls and made the following arrests on Thursday and Friday.
Thursday, June 21
5:26 p.m. — A dog locked in a vehicle was reported on Grant Road. Police said the vehicle was gone when they arrived.
5:30 p.m. — A person who was passed out was reported on Klop Alley. Police said the person was okay, and was sent on his way.
5:57 p.m. — Police said a Pickman Road caller told them he saw someone steal five landscaping plants. The officer confirmed the woman was actually just the landscape designer.
6:26 p.m. — A group in the Pool was reported. Police said there was no group in the pool.
7:29 p.m. — Police responded to a tenant/landlord dispute over an air conditioner on Cedar Avenue.
10:11 p.m. —A woman yelling and screaming was reported on Hancock Street. Police said the verbal dispute was domestic in nature.
11:05 p.m. — Police responded to Charter Street on a call about a barking dog. The man said his dog wasn't barking, and he was advised to try to keep his dog from barking.
Thursday Arrest
Robert Soden, 44, of 98 Cook St. in Lynn was arrested on charges of assault and battery and attempted murder.
Friday, June 22
3:13 a.m. — Police responded to Loring Avenue and Harrison Road on a call someone crashed into a pole. The officer found parts in the road and on the sidewalk. They also located an unoccupied vehicle.
3:38 a.m. — While on patrol looking for the person that crashed into the pole, police found a man on Clifton Avenue with a flashlight and a screw driver. The man said he was driving around picking up metal that was put out for trash day. The man "was taking apart and old grill...to have it fit in his motor vehicle," police said. The man's car was filled with junk and cans and he was advised of the time and sent on his way.
6:13 a.m. — A Pioneer Terrace caller told police "she believes there are bugs living in her apartment building." Police said the woman told them "she saw black and white spiders in her apartment." When the officers asked to see the spiders, the woman said they "would not be able to see them because they have gone to the basement." The woman said the basement is kept locked by Salem Housing. The woman was advised to call Salem Housing about her arachnid issue.
9:30 a.m. — Police were called about a barking dog on Williams Street.
9:48 a.m. — A Mason Street caller reported she got no sleep because a dog kept barking, but she didn't know where it was located.
10:18 a.m. — A stolen purse was reported in a Traders Way parking lot. A woman told police she left the purse unattended in a carriage.
1:03 p.m. — Police received a call from the about an ex-employee who has been harassing people affiliated with the business.
1:31 p.m. — Police responded to a call a man was punched in the face on Jefferson Avenue. A man said while he was skateboarding by , he was assaulted by a man he knows only as "Joe." The man told the officer "Joe" approached him in front of the restaurant and punched him in the face with a closed fist for no reason." The man asked the staff at Giovanni's but they weren't able to give him any information about the alleged assailant. Police told the man to try to get more information about "Joe."
1:36 p.m. — Slashed tires were reported on Memorial Drive.
2:37 p.m. — A shoplifter was reported at .
Friday Arrest
Cesar Rosales-Hernandez, 31, of 5 Oxford St. in Lynn, was arrested on charges of operating without being licensed and a marked lanes violation.
