Last Day To Register For Salem's Primary Election Is Next Week

Salem will hold a primary election for mayor and city council on Sept. 14.

SALEM, MA — Salem residents looking to vote in the Sept. 14 citywide primary have until Aug. 25 to register.

The election office will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. that day for registration. Residents can check their voting status here or by calling 978-745-9595, Exts. 41210, 41211 or 41212.

Bentley Academy Gymnasium, Community Room on Lafayette Street

Ward 2

Mayor Jean Levesque Community Life Center on Bridge Street (previously St. Peter's Church Parish Hall)

Ward 3

Salem High School

Ward 4

Witchcraft Heights Elementary School, Frederick Street

Ward 5

Saltonstall School auditorium, Lafayette Street

Ward 6

Bates School, Liberty Hill Avenue

Ward 7

Enterprise Center on Loring Avenue

Polling locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Salem residents will once again be able to apply to vote by mail this year. The ballot application deadline is Sept. 8 at 5 p.m. The application can be found here.

There will also be in-person early voting for the city primary election starting Sept. 9 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the City Hall Annex at 98 Washington Street.
