Lauren Schaejbe: I would say lacrosse. I have been playing soccer all my life and just picked up lacrosse my freshman year. It's just a new change of pace for me and a passion I have developed over my four years in high school.
SP: What's your secret to being a great athlete?
LS: My secret is just to give 110% during every drill during practice. My old coach used to say: "The harder you work at practice the easier the games come." I also play every game like it's my last.
SP: What's your favorite school subject and who's your favorite teacher?
LS: English, because my teacher Mrs. Marshall makes every class interesting and different.
SP: What are you looking forward to for the remainder of your senior year?
LS: I am looking forward to senior week during the last week of school, it really makes everyone become closer as a class.
SP: Do you know what you'll be doing after graduation?
LS: I'm working as a lifeguard during the summer then attending Assumption College in September.
SP: Do you have any favorite TV shows, movies, or music?
LS: My favorite TV show right now is Cash Cab. My mother (Mary), brother (Wesley, 12), and I try to answer the questions before the contestants do. We're actually pretty good at it.
SP: What's your favorite thing about Salem?
LS: My favorite thing about Salem is all the pride in our city. Everyone supports everyone during sporting events. It's a great environment to be a part of.
SP: If you had to give something up, what would it be?
LS: If I had to give up something it would be ice cream. I eat excessive amounts of it from , it's just so good!
SP: Who is your role model?
LS: My role model is my mother. She always works so hard and is always there for me when I need her. She is really the glue to my family. Without her we would all probably fall apart.
SP: What would your teammates say is the best thing about you? What's the greatest thing about your team?
LS: My teammates would say the best thing about me is my demeanor on the field. I always joke around to make practices fun, even when we are running suicides. I love my team because of their dedication to the game. When it is lacrosse season, we are not just a team, we're family.
