Court Officer Jose Martinez, 46, is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday in Essex Superior Court in Salem on indictments charging him with four counts of rape, six counts of indecent assault and battery, and single counts of assault with intent to rape and misleading investigators, according to the Suffolk District Attorney’s office.
Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett referred the case out in light of the defendant’s longtime employment in the Essex courthouse. Indictments were announced by Suffolk District Attorney Daniel Conley earlier this week. Conley’s office is prosecuting for Essex County, where 46-year-old Jose Martinez worked 15 years, according to CBS Boston.
