The Archdiocese of Boston closed the parish in 2003, according to Historic Salem Inc.

A page on the church from Historic Salem Inc. indicates "the owner of the church complex tried in 2009 to convert the church into housing units. The effort was frustrated by community opposition and by an inability to secure grant funding."
Gateways of Peace to the Nations Apostolic Ministries is currently located at 47 Canal St.
