Man Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault of Two Women at Salem Restaurant: Report

A Beverly man was arraigned Monday following the incident Sunday at a restaurant on Bridge Street.

SALEM, MA — A Beverly man was arraigned Monday on charges of indecent assault and battery, assault and battery and disorderly conduct after police say he allegedly sexually assaulted two women at the 99 restaurant on Bridge Street in Salem Sunday, reports the Salem News.

Sean McGrath, 46, of Beverly was held on $5,000 following his arraignment in Salem District Court Monday, reports the Salem News.

According to the report, McGrath sat down at the bar next to a woman who was eating alone, and allegedly began touching and fondling her leg, breasts and then put his hands on her genital area over her clothing, despite the woman telling him to stop.

The report further indicated that the man had been escorted out of the restaurant, but the prosecution explained that McGrath returned to the restaurant twice, where he later allegedly grabbed a waitress between her legs.
