Salem Shooting Leaves Man, Woman With Serious Injuries

Salem Police say they believe the victims knew the shooter.

SALEM, MA — Two people were seriously injured during a shooting last night in Salem, according to a news release from the Salem Police Department.

The man and woman were taken to a Boston hospital last night, where they remain in critical condition. Police responded to the shooting at about 8:25 p.m. Sunday, and say they believe the victims knew the shooter. No arrests have been made.

Police Chief Dennis King said that events like this can be traumatic for a community.

“We want the community to know that our detectives are working diligently to locate and apprehend the shooter and bring a sense of safety back to the neighborhood,” King said in the release. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.”
