Marblehead Police Bring Back Halloween Candy Drive For 2021
The candy drive invites parents to drop off "extra" Halloween candy for donation to Operation Troop Support of Danvers.
MARBLEHEAD, MA — Marblehead police are once again collecting extra candy for a good cause this fall.
The department is bringing back its annual candy drive from Nov. 1 to Nov. 13 where parents can drop off "extra candy" they might rather their youngsters not consume for donation to Operation Troop Support of Danvers.
Once again this year, the drop-off will be touchless because of the coronavirus crisis. Coronavirus limitations meant that the department could only donate a portion of the candy to Operation Troop Support last year with the remainder going to the Marblehead Food Pantry.

"Just drop your candy in one of the large bins in the (station) lobby and it's 'mission complete,'" police said. "No appointments are needed, and other than maybe throwing a friendly wave to the dispatchers, you don't have to interact with anyone."
Donations can be made 24 hours a day, but those donating the candy are asked to wear a face mask while inside the station lobby.
