Salem Patch: If you could only choose one sport, which is your favorite?

Max Feeley: If I had to choose one as my favorite, I would probably say baseball. It's just such a unique sport and the feeling of playing is like nothing else. Baseball is also so challenging because it's a game of failure. If you get a hit three or four times out of 10 you're considered successful. Not to mention, theres nothing like playing baseball in the beautiful weather. Baseball is just a very special experience.

SP: It's been a tough season so far for the Red Sox.

MF: Yeah "tough" is a bit of an understatement, but in the long run they'll be fine, they just have to find their rhythm.

SP: Who is your role model?

MF: My role models are definitely my parents. Being an only child, I never had brothers or sisters to look up to, but it's truly been an amazing expereince. I wouldn't trade the relationship I have with my parents for anything. They are such positive role models who inspire me through hard work, respect, and honesty. I know for a fact I would not be the person I am today without my mom and dad.

SP: What will you miss about Salem High School?

MF: Most of the kids I'm graduating with, I've known and been friendly with since I was pretty young, so it'll be a little weird with a completely new environment next year. Plus I've been extraordinarily lucky to have some great teachers and coaches who truly cared about me and I thank them for everything. But I'm ready and willing to accept the challenge of college with open arms.

SP: How will you celebrate graduation?

MF: I'll probably just have a small little get together with my family and friends. Nothing too crazy, just a nice time to celebrate my accomplishments throughout high school.

SP: What do you listen to music-wise?

MF: I'm into all different types of music. I'm really into Kid Cudi, Kanye West, Citizen Cope, Sublime, Red Hot Chili Peppers. Kid Cudi is definitely my favorite though, he's just so different from everybody else out there, and I can honestly say I've never heard a bad song by him.

SP: What's your favorite food?

MF: My favorite food by far is a burger and fries from Fuddruckers. Nothing else on the planet quite like it.

SP: What's your favorite thing about Salem?

MF: My favorite place in Salem is probably the during the summer. There's always people down there, the food is incredible, and there's always something to do. It's an awsome place to be. Salem's such a great city.
