Motorcycle Run to Honor Fallen Firefighter

This year's Ricey's Run is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 13.

Once again this fall, the Leatherheads Firefighters Motorcycle will be honoring the memory of fallen Peabody Firefighter James Rice.

Rice died after suffering injuries fighting a fire in the spring of 2012. He was 42 and left behind a wife and three children.

This year’s Ricey’s Run is on Sunday, Sept. 13, rain or shine.

The staging area for the run is the Italian American Citizens Club at 7 Blaney Avenue. The cost is $20 per bike and $5 per passenger.

Registration is from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and then it is kickstands up at noon for a police escorted scenic ride through the North Shore.

Following the ride, there will be music, food, and fun in the function hall.

Proceeds from the ride will benefit local charities in the memory of Rice.
