North Shore CDC Continues Community Build Days

North Shore CDC is hosting it's final Build Day of the summer on Friday, August 12th in Peabody and Lynn from 10am-3pm.

This summer, North Shore Community Development Coalition (CDC) is revitalizing four

distressed neighborhoods throughout the region with the help of over 200 volunteers.

Peabody, Lynn, Salem, and Beverly will each receive a day of neighborhood revitalization.

Citizens for Adequate Housing, and building a parade float for Peabody's Centennial Parade

in Peabody.

North Shore CDC’s youth jobs programs, YouthBuild North Shore and STAND, will lead the

revitalization efforts along with North Shore residents, businesses, and stakeholders.

Congressman Moulton, YouthBuild USA representatives, and Representative Walsh are also

expected to come and show their support. Volunteers from corporations to residents of all

ages and skill sets, as well as press, are invited to join one of the following Build Days:

● Peabody Friday, August 12th 10am – 3 pm

● Lynn Friday, August 12th 10am – 3 pm

Community Build Days directly benefit the neighborhoods, and in return, the communities, as

well as North Shore CDC’s youth programs. With this support, YouthBuild North Shore

empowers young adults with the desire to transform their lives and improve their communities

through education, employment, and leadership development. The program serves

low-income young people working toward their high school diplomas, while learning job skills.

STAND is a smaller scale, similar program focused on youth employment and skill

development opportunities during the summer months.

North Shore CDC would like to express its gratitude to the volunteers and sponsors of this

summer’s Build Days. The sponsors include Citizens for Adequate Housing, Community Credit

Union, Analogic, Beverly Rotary Club, A.J. Lynch Insurance Agency, Boston Hot Dogs,

Bertucci’s, and North Shore Bank. Additional sponsorship opportunities for both monetary

and in-kind donations are still available. For more information or to volunteer, visit
