Salem patients will have heart surgeries at Mass General Hospital

In an article published by the Boston Globe yesterday, we learn that Partners Health Care announced its decision to stop performing heart surgeries at the local Salem Hospital. The move is due to the low number of cardiac patients. The unit was built to perform 300 to 400 surgeries a year but has only done 150 to 175 operations.
