North Shore Power Slowly Being Restored

Some towns were getting it back quicker than others.

Power outages across the North Shore were being restored into early Friday morning following the second nor'easter in a week. The outages were still severe in some towns, but the region was improving after a brutal morning and afternoon.

Newburyport still had 8,485 without power close to midnight. Salisbury had 5,445 - or 99 percent - in the dark.

A few areas earlier Thursday had 99 or 100 percent of households in the dark, including Newbury, Newburyport, and Salisbury. Hamilton had 87 percent without power. Many - but not all - of those were being restored.
