North Shore Pride Parade Takes To Salem Streets Saturday

Salem police advised of temporary road closures as the parade goes through downtown.

SALEM, MA — Salem streets will temporarily close downtown starting around noon on Saturday as the North Shore Pride Parade marches across the city.

Salem police on Friday said to anticipate road closures on parts of Congress Street, Derby Street from Congress Street to Central Street, Central Street, Front Street, Washington Street northbound from Riley Plaza to Essex Street, and Washington Square around Salem Common.

The parade is part of a full day of activities celebrating the contributions of the LGBTQ+ community to the entire North Shore. It will depart at noon from Shetland Office Park toward Congress Street.

A Pride Festival in Salem Common on North Washington Square will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There will also be an adult after-party and youth after-party.

The after-party for those 21+ will be at the Marine Beer Garden on Derby Street from 5 to 9 p.m.

The North Shore Pride Youth After Party will take place at the NAGLY Center at 2 East India Square at 5 p.m.

Residents from throughout the North Shore are invited to attend.

The weekend will conclude with a drag brunch at The Derby on Washington Street on June 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
