NSMC Opens New MRI Suite At Salem Campus
The healthcare provider now offers state-of-the-art MRI technology at its two in Salem and Peabody.
SALEM, MA - From North Shore Medical Center: North Shore Medical Center (NSMC) recently celebrated the addition of its new, state-of-the-art MRI suite at a ribbon-cutting event at NSMC Salem Hospital.
“We’re very excited to offer this leading-edge technology in Salem,” NSMC Executive Director of Radiology Margaret Houghton said. “The new MRI suite will enable NSMC to serve our patients, including our most critically ill while offering greater ambiance and sophistication in our technology”.
NSMC’s new MRI scanner delivers high-quality imaging, faster scanning times and a more pleasant and peaceful patient experience. During the scan, patients can listen to music and view relaxing images in a comfortable environment.

Similar to the technological upgrades in Salem, NSMC upgraded MRI technology at its Peabody location in December of 2018. The Peabody location also offers more comfortable facilities, shorter scan times and enables patients to personalize their experience by watching movies or listening to music during their scans.
“Patients love our new MRI suite,” says NSMC MRI Operations Manager Maura Driscoll. “There are multiple features they can choose to make their MRI experience more pleasant.”
