Obituary: Anne R. (Souza) Szczuka, Proprietor of the Beauty Salon in Salem
An avid reader, she enjoyed the challenge of a good crossword puzzle, and was a member of her bowling league in Danvers for several years.

Anne R. (Souza) Szczuka, 88, of Salem, beloved wife of the late William “Stitches” Szczuka, died Tuesday March 24, 2015 at The Lafayette in Marblehead.
Born in Lawrence she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Louise (Andrews) Souza.

A resident of Salem for most of her life, Anne was a familiar face downtown where she was the proprietor of the Beauty Salon, where many of her friends gathered for over thirty years.
An out-going and fun-loving personality, Anne enjoyed being with her friends and family, but especially enjoyed the time she spent with her sisters with whom she shared a special bond. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.

Anne is survived by her daughter, Joanne Twomey of Salem, her five grandchildren, Susan (Twomey) Feniger and he husband Michael, Christopher Twomey, John Twomey and his wife Julie, Andrea (Twomey) Killam and her husband Brad and Peter Twomey, 2 great-grandchildren, her sister Rose Dunn of Los Lamas, New Mexico, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Mary Batista and Tina Souza.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held from The O’Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq. (at Salem Common) Salem, Saturday March 28th at 9:15 A.M. followed by her Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Hawthorne Blvd., Salem at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial will be private. Visiting hours Friday, March 27th, from 4 to 6 P.M. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Anne’s memory to Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970.
