Obituary: Edward P. Harrington, Lifelong Career in Plumbing

Edward Patrick Harrington, 73, of Salem, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Monday, February 23, 2015 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Doris (Berube) Harrington.

Born in Salem, Edward was the son of the late Edward and Natalie (Leveille) Harrington. A U.S. Navy Veteran, Edward honorably served his country before returning to a lifelong career in plumbing. He worked for Bergeron Plumbing and Heating in Salem, Bell & Campbell in Salem, and Peabody Supply in Peabody. In his later years, Edward worked at the Lafayette Club in Salem where he was also a member.

Along with his wife, Doris (Berube) Harrington of Salem, Edward is survived by his daughters, Kelley Moore and her husband Dennis of Peabody, and Kristen Jarvis and her husband Sean of Haverhill; two sons, Edward Harrington and his wife Denise of Salem, and Thomas Harrington and his wife Rachel of Salem; his grandchildren, Lauren, Steven, and Michael Donovan, Cole and Ryan Jarvis, Jordyn, Taylor, and Eddie Harrington III, Tommy and Teagan Harrington, Todd and Shane Keith; his brothers, Michael Harrington and his wife Judy of Lynn, Brian Harrington and his wife Andrea of Beverly; a sister, Margaret Quimby and her husband Francis of Middleton; and several nieces and nephews. Edward was predeceased by his sister, Maryellen Harrington.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St. (Rt 1A/114) Salem, Thursday from 4-8pm and to a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Hawthorne Blvd. Salem, Friday at 11am. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn, Peabody. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Edward’s name to Kaplan Family Hospice House c/o Care Dimensions 75 Sylvan St. Danvers, MA 01923.
