Obituary: Evelyn M. (Birmingham) Ross, Worked at General Electric for 65 Years
She was raised and educated in Salem and graduated from Salem High School.

Evelyn M. (Birmingham) Ross, 89, of Salem, beloved wife of the late Malcolm W. Ross, Sr., died Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Grosvenor Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Salem surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Salem she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (McCarron) Birmingham. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School.

A dedicated employee, fondly known as Evie, enjoyed her job so much at the Employment office of the General Electric Company, she worked into her eighties for a total of 65 years with the company.
A friendly and spirited woman, Evie enjoyed being with people, especially her family who will remember her as a loving mother and grandmother and will miss her greatly.

Evelyn is survived her son Brian Ross and his wife Karen of Peabody, her daughter Mary Tapley and her husband Dale of Lynn, her grandchildren, Allison Avagianos, Jill Tapley, Katelyn Ross, Hannah Ross, and Bo Ross, her great-granddaughter Isabel and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Malcolm W. Ross, Jr and Barry Ross and sister of the late Arthur Birmingham, Eleanor Wallace, Dorothy Wallace, Katherine Wallace and Trudy Murray.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Grosvenor Park for their kindness shown to Evie during her stay.
Arrangements: Her Funeral will be held from The O’Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq., (on Salem Common), Salem, Tuesday January13, 2015 at 9:15 AM followed by her Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Salem at 10 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours Monday January 12, 2015 4 -7 pm.
