Obituary: Florence (Theriault) Gagnon, Lifelong

Worked for many years at the former Daniel Low & Co. of Salem.

Florence (Theriault) Gagnon, 99, of Salem, passed away Friday, April 24, 2015 in the Abbott House Nursing Home in Lynn. She was the wife of the late Arthur Gagnon.

Born in Salem, Florence lived in Salem all of her life. A graduate of Salem High School, she worked for many years seasonally at the former Daniel Low & Co. of Salem.

Florence is survived by her two daughters, Pauline Harney and her husband Frederick of Salem, and Barbara McCormack and her husband Daniel of Ft. Peirce, FL; two grandchildren, Carolee Stead and her husband Roy of Salem and Emily Harney of Salem; a great-grandson, Shaun Hawkins of Salem, and a great-granddaughter Breanna Stead of Salem; a sister-in-law, Jacqueline Gagnon of Salem; a brother-in-law, Robert Gagnon and his wife Claire of Beverly; and several nieces and nephews. Along with her husband, Arthur, Florence was predeceased by her brother, Wilfred Theriault; and her sisters, Nellie Tardiff and Jeannette Guerriero.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St. Salem, Tuesday from 9-10:30 am followed by a funeral Mass in Ste. Anne Church, Jefferson Ave Salem, at 11am. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Brookhouse Home for Women 180 Derby St. Salem, MA 01970.
