Obituary: Lisa M. (Henderson) Appel, 51, Owned "Play it Again" in Salem

Was an avid gardener and lover of dolls and doll houses.

Lisa M. (Henderson) Appel, 51, passed away on November 30, 2014 in Beverly Hospital. She was the loving wife of Richard G. Appel, with whom she shared 30 years of marriage.
Born in Danvers on March 11, 1963, she was the daughter of Mary Lee (Hanson) Henderson of Danvers and the late James G. Henderson. Lisa was raised and educated in Danvers and graduated from Danvers High School in 1981. She also attended Fitchburg State College. Lisa had owned a children’s clothing store named “Play it Again” in Salem. Lisa was an avid gardener and lover of dolls and doll houses. She enjoyed collecting antiques. Lisa loved her family and was very proud of her children, nieces and nephews.
Besides her mother, Mary Lee, and her husband, Richard, she is survived by her three beloved children, Christopher James, Benjamin Richard and Katherine Ellen Appel, all of Danvers, her siblings, Laurie Henderson and Jamey Henderson both of Danvers, and nieces and nephews, Cody and Drew Piazza, Samantha Fletcher, Jamie Henderson and Ian Henderson.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9AM on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in Saint Richard Parish, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 3-7PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Lisa’s name to the Danvers People-to-People Food Pantry, PO Box 2076, Danvers, MA, 01923.
