Obituary: Marshall E. Armand, Active in Real Estate Sales and Property Management

Marshall E. Armand, 80, of Bradenton, Florida, formerly of Danvers and Salem, Massachusetts and Exeter, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on June 7th, 2015. Born December 10, 1934, he was the son of Joyce C. (Marshall) and Ernest L. Armand and was raised in Danvers.
A graduate of Holten High School in Danvers, Class of 1952, Marshall earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Boston University in 1956. He began his career at United Shoe Machinery Corporation in Beverly and held subsequent positions at Atwood & Morrill in Salem and Micro-Dynamics in Woburn. He also was active in the areas of real estate sales and property management.

Marshall married (the late) Elizabeth (McCarthy) Armand of New Haven, Connecticut, and raised three sons in Salem. He enjoyed camping, traveling, and summer vacations on Cape Cod. A lifelong Boston sports fan, he later took up tennis and golf as hobbies. He particularly enjoyed spending time at the bayside beaches of Brewster with his extended family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his devoted wife Anne S. (Slafsky) Armand of Bradenton, Florida; three sons, Stephen E. Armand and his wife Renee of Rowley, Massachusetts, Richard M. Armand and his wife Lisa of Danvers, and Brian M. Armand and his wife Brenda of Danvers; six grandchildren, Cameron and Michael Armand of Rowley, Jeremy, Zachary, Justine and Trevor Armand, all of Danvers; stepson A.J. Segel, his wife Reiko, and stepgranddaughter Skyla of Atlanta, Georgia. He is predeceased by his wife Elizabeth (McCarthy) Armand, brother Ernest L. Armand, Jr. and stepdaughter Deedee Segel Ohlemacher.

Visiting hours will be held at the Mackey Funeral Home, 128 South Main St, Middleton, Thursday, June 18, from 4:00 to 7:30 PM. A memorial service will be celebrated at the funeral home on Friday, June 19, at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund at www.curealz.org.
