Obituary: Mary Jane Parent; World War II Veteran, Served at Letterman General Hospital, Presidio, San Francisco

Outstanding nursing skills.

Salem - Mary Jane Parent 94, of Chicopee, beloved wife of the late George Parent, died June 3rd, 2015.
Born in Chicago, she was the daughter of the late Lee Ross and Eva (Parke)Christensen. She was raised and educated in Utah.

She was a World War II Veteran serving time at Letterman General Hospital, Presidio, San Francisco. Her outstanding nursing skills included time at the University of California, Medical Hospital in San Francisco, NIH and Walter Reed in the Washington, D.C. area and the infirmary at Westover Air Force Base. She enjoyed workouts and events at the Senior Center in Chicopee, the trips with Elderhostel and family, the Naturalist Club’s walks, the events at the local museums and parks, and the Arts at Mount Holyoke College. She took great comfort in the friendships of those nearby.

She is survived by her son, William D. Parent of San Francisco, California, four sisters, one brother, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral services are private. Military honors and burial will be rendered in her honor at Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C.
