Obituary: Nancy V. "Magee" Theriault, Longtime Member of St. Joseph Church and Belonged to Les Enfants de Marie

Worked for New England Telephone Company as an operator and investigator for 35 years.

Nancy V. “Magee” Theriault, 78, of Salem, passed away March 1, 2015 in Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody following a brief illness.

Born in Salem, Nancy was the daughter of the late Germain and Adeline (Lemelin) Theriault. Magee was a graduate of St. Joseph Elementary and High Schools. She lived in Salem her whole life and was a devoted caregiver first to her mother Adeline Theriault and later to her aunt Elizabeth “Liz” Chouinard who passed September 23, 2014. Nancy worked for New England Telephone Company as an operator and investigator for 35 years until her retirement. She also worked for Sears Credit Department for 15 years retiring there as well.

Nancy was the eldest of a large close family of cousins and was more like a devoted and cherished aunt to all. She was an active member of the former St. Joseph Church for over 25 years and belonged to their Les Enfants de Marie. She was a close personal friend to many of the Sisters of the Assumption at St. Joseph’s Parish and at their school and novitiate in Petersham, MA. Her favorite pastime was taking her mother and the aunts out for rides and to dinner at their favorite restaurants. Nancy loved to travel especially to Maine and New Hampshire. She enjoyed playing cards and was a great fan of the Red Sox.

She is survived by her immediate family, Roy Chouinard and his wife Jacqueline of Peabody, Michelle Chouinard and her husband Garrett Mizioch, Danielle Noyes and her husband Leigh, and Jeanine Sullivan and her husband Kevin, Ben, Jacob, Lydia, Abby, and Patrick, many close and loving cousins, and also her caregivers and friends at Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St. (1A/114) Salem Thursday from 4-7pm. Her funeral Mass will be in St. Thomas Church, North St. Salem, Friday at 10am. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Rosewood Nursing Activity Dept. 22 Johnson St. Peabody, MA 01960 or to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St. Danvers, MA 01923.
