Opus Underground Hosts 'Summer Celebration' Fundraiser

A Summer Celebration is coming to Opus Underground from 6 to 9pm on Sunday, August 28th. This fun event includes live music, dancing, free appetizers and a silent auction with many sports memorabilia items is a feature of this fundraising event.

Music will be provided by VEIN, an original band was formed in 1997 Salem MA. The band has Bob Kerr on Vocals/Guitar; James Christo on Lead Guitar; Jason Paul on Bass; and Cliff Goodman on Drums who have played together for many years. Fueled by a connection that blends a chemistry of rock and soulful sounds! VEIN delivers a punch of rock with an original style of their own. Currently they play weekly at the Lobster Shanty and other North Shore location.

The OPUS Underground location has been donated by the OPUS restaurant (87 Washington St. Salem, MA) which is an award winning food and drink establishment that has received the Best of Northshore 2016 seal along with other honors. Check them out for dinner and then join the party UNDERGROUND.

This event is a fundraiser sponsored by A3D, Inc. which is the organization that runs the Salem CultureFest on the Common every July. A3D has supported many local non-profit organizations like HAWC (Healing Abuse Working for Change), On Point, the Salem School Foundation, St. Peter’s Church and others along with providing desks, computers, sewing machines and clothing to schools in Senegal, West Africa.

This event is raising money to sponsor a level one Senegal Soccer team made up of 40 young men looking for a future. They need 2 sets of team jerseys and soccer balls. The goal is to raise $5,000 to buy and deliver these items before the start of the upcoming 2016-17 soccer season in Africa.
