Peabody Men Involved In Salem Stabbing, Rollover Crash: Police

Police said one Peabody man was 'looking at his phone' at the time of an early morning crash, another was stabbed on Palmer Street.

SALEM, MA —Peabody men were involved in an overnight rollover crash on Lafayette Street and a separate stabbing on Palmer Street in Salem early Sunday morning.

Salem police said a 23-year-old Peabody man whose car was found on its roof with accident damage about 2 a.m. on Lafayette Street told officers he was "looking at his phone" at the time of the crash.

Police said two people in the other car in the crash suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening and were taken to Salem Hospital. Police said that crash is under investigation.

In a separate incident about an hour later, Salem police said they found a 25-year-old Peabody man stabbed in the neck on Palmer Street. That victim was treated and released from Salem Hospital as well. Police said the stabbing is also under investigation.
