In a Pig's Eye to Re-Open Monday

BREAKING: The Derby Street mainstay had previously announced that it would be closing, but now has been "saved."

SALEM, MA — It seems as if a Salem favorite has been saved.

According to a post on its Facebook page, In a Pig's Eye will re-open Monday, Oct. 3, at 5 p.m. and will remain open through the rest of the year. The Salem comfort food restaurant and entertainment venue located at 148 Derby St. had previously announced that it would be closing, but it appears the restaurant has been saved by a restauranteur identified as Pat Schultz.

"The Pig Lives!!!," wrote Pat Schultz on Facebook."Reopening this Monday night at 5:00!!! The Reardon’s created it and Jim Gaddis saved it. That’s how I see it. Now starts a new chapter!"

The post further indicates that the eatery will be open through December 31 before closing for renovation, which hope to preserve the "natural and historic beauty of the space."

In addition, the post indicated that the staff "remains essentially the same," and the menu will remain similar but will add improvements.
