Police: Crack Cocaine Arrest; Illegal Dumping; Woman Reported Assault, Changed Story

Saturday, April 18
At 11:49 a.m., malicious destruction of property on Dundee Street. Car keyed overnight. Reporting party came into the station to report that her car had been keyed. A neighbor told her that there had been a group of kids in the area about 10 p.m. Did not witness kids key the car. Driver-side door and trunk area keyed.
At 1:18 p.m., assault and battery on Derby Street. Reporting party stated that she was assaulted by an unknown, drunk man behind the Hess Gas Station. She said the man pushed her on the side of her neck and grabbed her left arm. She told officers that her cellphone fell and cracked as a result. The woman told officers that the man left the area. She was advised to file a complaint with Salem District Court. The woman changed her statement many times when speaking to officers.

At 1:29 p.m., parking complaint on New Derby Street. Handicap parking violation. Cleared, vehicle had a placard.
At 2:38 p.m., motor vehicle accident on Norman Street. One of the drivers, Breno Coelho, 35, of Peabody, was arrested for following too closely to a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, operating with a revoked license, and possession of crack cocaine with the intent to distribute.

At 3:55 p.m., illegal dumping on Highland Avenue. Illegal trash dumping.
