Thursday, August 20
At 1:23 a.m., two people said there were assaulted by a man on a bicycle on Norman Street. They said that the man was intoxicated and took off down Broad Street.
At 2:06 p.m., a warrant was issued for a man who walked out of Walmart on Highland Avenue with a cellphone without paying for it.

At 2:44 p.m., there was a minor motor vehicle accident on Tremont Street.
At 4:42 p.m., pills were reported stolen from a residence on Orange Street.

At 6:08 p.m., there was a report of a past hit and run to a motor vehicle on Federal Street.
At 6:19 p.m., there was a report of an unarmed robbery of a backpack on Lafayette Place.
At 8:17 p.m., police arrested John B. Lefave, 57, homeless, of Salem and charged him with distributing a Class E drug and on a warrant as a fugitive from justice. According to police, Lefave attempted to sell a Xanax to an undercover detective.
Friday, August 21
At 3:27 a.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious man near Washington and Federal Streets. According to several witnesses, a man, possibly wearing a towel around his waist, was yelling outside their windows and waking them up. Police arrested Cory C. Nelson, 32, of 6 Ellsworth Road in Peabody and charged him with disturbing the peace.
