Police: Three Burglary Suspects Arrested; Two Drunk Driving Arrests; Graffiti on Canal Street

Sunday, April 4
At 1:40 a.m., motor vehicle accident on Loring Avenue. SUV crashed into a telephone pole.Som Somant, 32, of Dorchester, was arrested for operating under the influence of liquor and marked lanes violation.
At 3:06 a.m., cruisers were dispatched to a loud disturbance on Dunlap Street. Officers could hear loud noise coming from a second floor apartment. Tenant was advised that the party was over, and that her guests had to leave. Woman was also advised that she could be issued a city ordinance and she was subject to arrest for disturbing the peace. all her guests left without incident.

At 9:06 a.m., DPW callout for a possible water main break on Lafayette Street and Harbor View Terrace.

At 6:37 p.m., wallet found on Howard Street.
At 7:13 p.m., suspicious person on Highland Avenue.
At 9:37 p.m., burglary on Perkins Street, Break and enter in progress. The caller reported seeing two men; one of the men climbed through a window and the other man seemed to be the lookout. Caller provided a description of the what the men were wearing. One of the suspects came out of the house with bags of items. Officers saw two men matching the descriptions in the immediate area. After a brief foot chase, officers saw one of the men get into a gray sedan at the corner of Palmer and Parker streets. The driver, Danny Barbosa, 26, of Boston, was arrested for burglary, larceny over $250, failure to stop for police and failure to operate a motor vehicle without displaying headlights. Francisco Barros, 23, of Dorchester, was arrested for burglary, disorderly conduct, larceny over $250, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana, subsequent offense and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute within a school zone. A warrant was issued for Coulino Fernandes for burglary, larceny over $250, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute within a school zone.
Monday, April 6
At 1:13 a.m., neighbor dispute on North Street.
At 2:39 a.m., check well being on Essex Street and Hawthorne. Report of a woman slumped over in a motor vehicle. Jenaya Brown Marshall, 23, of Peabody, was arrested for operating under the influence of liquor.
At 11:09 a.m., vandalism on Canal Street. Graffiti spray painted on two locations. The size of the graffiti is significant and appeared to have been done by the same person. The letters “KYS” were seen in the corner.
At 11:28 a.m., shoplifting reported at Shaws supermarket on Traders Way. Items taken valued approximately $55.
At 12:46 p.m., lost wallet on Congress Street. Red Coach wallet with cash and IDs lost in the parking lot on Congress Street. Shetland Park.
At 2:34 p.m., computer stolen from building on Church Street. Computer was reportedly taken sometime in January.
