Police: Unsuccessful Uber Attempt; Fighting the Staff

Sunday, Jan. 3
At 12:55 a.m. officers saw a large crowd gathered in front of a restaurant on Essex Street with a man creating a scene and trying to fight the restaurant staff. The man was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
At 4:27 a.m., a man turned in a purse he found on Essex Street.

At 4:30 a.m., there was a report of a suspicious person trying car door handles on Chestnut Street. When officers arrived, they spoke to a man who had passed out next to a vehicle while trying to call Uber for a ride. Officers determined that the man was highly intoxicated and had vomited all over himself and the vehicle he was standing near. He was not trying to break into the car, but was using it for balance. The man was placed in protective custody.
At 10:21 a.m., there was a motor vehicle accident on Highland Avenue.

At 2:40 p.m., there was a motor vehicle accident at Briggs Street and Washington Square East.
At 7:56 p.m., an employee of a fitness center on Traders Way said a man came into the business and started yelling at and videotaping the staff. He said no one knew who the man was.
At 8:04 p.m., a Palmer Street resident reported that a man had entered the rear of the property and was going through the trash and leaving a mess.
Monday, Jan. 4
At 11:34 a.m., a vehicle was reported vandalized on North Street.
At 2:27 p.m., there was a motor vehicle accident on Willson Street.
