Popular Salem Farmer's Market Vendor Closes

Amesbury-based Mia's House Of Sweets was a mainstay at the Salem Farmer's Market.

SALEM, MA -- Mia's House of Sweets was an Amesbury-based bakery, but for a lot of regulars at the Salem Farmer's Market, the business seemed like a local one. The two-year-old bakery has been a regular vendor at the market, as well as other farmers markets on the North Shore. So the news that Mia's would be closing hit close to home for Salem residents.

"It’s difficult for me to write this but I wanted to let you know that Mia’s House of Sweets is officially closed. It wasn’t an easy decision to make but it’s the right one for me right now," the business said in a Facebook post. "I want to thank everyone in Beverly, Salem, Swampscott, Amesbury, and beyond - customers, friends, and family - who have rallied behind me and the business over the past two years."

"While we are heartbroken that Mia will not be at the market with us any more, we know this is not the last we have seen of her!" Salem Farmers Market said in its own Facebook post noting the closing. "We are so proud to have been a part of your business journey, and cannot wait to see what you accomplish next."
