Salem Boasts Millionaire's Row Of Instant Ticket Winners

Million-dollar scratch tickets were sold to a Salem woman and Peabody man in the Witch City in recent days.

SALEM, MA — Salem may soon see an influx of instant ticket enthusiasts looking for a big payday after two stores in the Witch City sold million-dollar winners in recent days.

A Salem woman and Peabody man both claimed prizes from tickets bought in Salem with each taking the one-time payment valued at about $650,000 before taxes.

Nancy Diamond, of Salem, won a $1 million prize in the $5 "$1,000,000 Stacks of Cash" game. She said she plans to buy a new car with her winnings.

She bought her ticket at Nicole's Food Store on Essex Street. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for selling the ticket.

Frederico Sampaio, of Peabody, was the winner of the fourth and final $1 million prize in the "Double Your Money" instant ticket game. Sampaio said he plans to put his winnings toward his family.

His winning ticket was bought at RX3 Energy located on Bridge Street in Salem. The store
will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
