Salem Boxer to Fight Card to be Nationally-Televised on Fox Sports
The "Monster Brawl" is planned for late October in Plymouth and will feature Salem boxer Derek Silveira.

A Salem boxer will enter the ring later this week as part of a card that will be broadcast nationally on Fox Sports 1.
New England Welterweight Champion Derek Silveira (10-1, 4 KOs) of Salem will face Dorchester favorite Michael Owen McLaughlin (8-1-1, 4 KOs), originally from County Donegal, Ireland in a six-round welterweight contest.
The match is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 30 at Plymouth Memorial Hall in Plymouth. A portion of the evening’s matchups will be aired on FOX Sports 1 and FOX Deportes.

The featured match at “Monster Brawl” will be have Jason Quigley of County Donegal, Ireland continuing his professional career versus a yet-to-be-named opponent. Quigley (2-0, 2 KOs) won a silver medal at the World Amateur Championships last year and recently signed with Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions.
The “Monster Brawl” is a co-promotion between Golden Boy Promotions and Ken Casey of the Dropkick Murphys.

The main event will be a 10-round welterweight bout, with former U.S. Olympic Team member Danny O’Connor of Framingham (23-2, 7 KOs) facing Andrew Farmer (18-2, 7 KOs).
The co-main event will have lightweight Sharif Bogere (25-1, 17 KOs) facing an opponent to be determined in a 10-round bout.
The first fight on Oct. 30 starts at 7 p.m. and the Fox Sports 1 and Fox Deportes broadcast airs live starting at 10 p.m.
Tickets run from $100 for ringside, reserved seating to $45 for balcony, general admission seats. Reserved, floor seating is $80 and mezzanine and general admission is $65.
