Salem Christmas Tree Bonfire Set For Dead Horse Beach

The bonfire of residents' Christmas trees will be held on Jan. 7 with no rain date scheduled.

SALEM, MA — The annual Salem Christmas tree bonfire will return to Dead Horse Beach at Salem Willows early next month.

The bonfire is set for Jan. 7 at 6 p.m. There is no scheduled rain date.

Residents are invited to bring trees with them that night or drop them off at the beach from Jan. 2 through Jan. 7. Residents can also leave them out for curbside pickup beginning on Dec. 26.

Citywide pickup of trees will take place for three weeks with those picked up in the first two weeks included in the bonfire. Residents can also drop off trees at Castle Hill Park at 4 Story Road until the end of January.

Residents dropping off trees for the bonfire must go inside the parking lot to drop off the trees.

All decorations and lights must be removed from the trees prior to being put out for curbside pickup or being dropped off at the beach.
