Salem Drivers Told To Brace For Five Weeks Of Heavy Traffic

Crews will be replacing a water main on Boston Street beginning Thursday.

SALEM, MA -- A major water main replacement on Boston Street in Salem is expected to disrupt traffic for the next five weeks, according to Salem Police. The work is scheduled to begin Thursday and will require the closure of the outbound lane between Bridge and Grove Streets from 7:30 am and 3:30 pm, Monday thru Friday, for the project's duration, Salem Police said in social media posts Wednesday.

"Motorists can expect heavier than normal traffic and are advised to seek alternate routes," the department said on Facebook.
