Salem Early, In-Person Voting For MA General Election Begins Oct. 22

Salem is also looking to hire bilingual poll workers and translators for Election Day on Nov. 8.

SALEM, MA — Early in-person voting in Salem for the November general state election will begin on Oct. 22.

Salem will host 14 early, in-person voting dates at Salem City Hall Annex and two dates at Salem High School.

Early voting will take place at the Annex on Oct. 22 and Oct. 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Oct. 24 through Oct. 26 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Oct. 27 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Oct. 28 from 8 a.m. to noon, Oct. 29 and Oct. 30 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Oct. 31 through Nov. 2 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Nov. 3 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Nov. 4 from 8 a.m. to noon.

Early voting at Salem High will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30.

Those who received a mail-in ballot can return them at the four fire station drop boxes at Fire Headquarters at 48 Lafayette Street, Fire Station 5 at 64 Loring Avenue, Fire Station 4 at 415 Essex Street and Fire Station 2 at 142 North Street prior to the close of polls on Nov. 8.

They can also be mailed to or returned directly to the City Clerk's Office at 93 Washington Street.

Mail-in ballots can also be dropped off at early voting sites during early voting hours but cannot be dropped off at the polls on Election Day.

Salem is also seeking bilingual speakers and translators to work as poll workers on Election Day.

Translators are paid $210 to work a full day and $105 for a half day. A full day is 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Half-day shifts are 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Once hired, poll workers will need to fill out paperwork for Human Resources in order to be paid.

Ward 4 Precinct 1 & 2 Witchcraft Heights School Gymnasium, 1 Frederick Street

Ward 5 Precinct 1 & 2 Saltonstall School Auditorium, 211 Lafayette Street

Ward 6 Precinct 1 & 2 Bates School Gymnasium, 53 Liberty Hill Avenue

Ward 7 Precinct 1 & 2 Salem Enterprise Center, 121 Loring Avenue
