Salem Emergency Water Main Work Begins Monday

The month-long project will replace the main on Loring Avenue from Oakview AvenueAv to the Forest River Bridge.

SALEM, MA — Emergency water main work will begin on Loring Avenue in Salem on Monday.

The city will begin construction to improve the functionality and reliability of the water system in the area. The project includes replacing a portion of the 16-inch main with new valves and hydrants on Loring Avenue from Oakview Avenue to the Forest River Bridge.

Construction is expected to last about one month depending on the weather.

Work hours are from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays. Drivers should expect delays and should use reduced speeds in the area.

Police details will be onsite to facilitate during working hours.
