Salem Fire Crews Battle Norman Street Blaze Tuesday Afternoon

SALEM, MA — Salem fire crews spent Tuesday afternoon battling a blaze in a mixed residential and commercial building near downtown.

Multiple reports said the first, which reached two alarms at mid-afternoon, was in a residential area above a brick commercial building on Norman Street. The fire was reportedly on the back deck and had extended into the roof when mutual aid was requested.
