Salem High School's New Principal Doesn't Have License
Vittoria Pacifico has 90 days to get a license or waiver from the Massachusetts Department of Education.

SALEM, MA — Vittoria Pacifico, who was hired to be Ssalem High School's new principal on the same day her predecessor resigned last month, does not have a license from the Massachusetts Department of Education. Pacifico previously worked for private schools and did not need a state license in those roles. Pacifico has 90 days to get licensed or a waiver from the Department of Education to continue in her new job.
According to the Salem News, which first reported this story, Superintendent Margarita Ruiz said the lack of a license was a non-issue. "The biggest concern here was to get someone with experience and a track record who has done this in the past, and she has done this," Ruiz told the newspaper. "What is most important is that we have someone with experience and that's exactly what the school needs right now."
