Salem To Host 'Longest Table' Free Outdoor Dining Event
The Salem Food Policy Council event will shut down the Congress Street bridge between Derby and Peabody Streets on the afternoon of June 15.

SALEM, MA — A free, outdoor dining event designed to showcase the Salem Food Policy Council's work to improve access to healthy, affordable and culturally relevant foods in Salem will shut down the Congress Street bridge on June 15.
The inaugural "Longest Table" event will include food from Salem nonprofit Root and is open to all Salem community members who register here.
The menu for the dinner includes Spanish rice, black beans with onions and peppers, roasted plantains, Cuban chicken and a dessert.

To facilitate the event, Congress Street will be closed between Derby and Peabody from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. that day. There will be no parking on either side of the Congress Street bridge.
The event itself will run from 4 to 6 p.m.
